About the Course

This course explores the fundamental concepts of protein targeting and sorting with a focus on endoplasmic reticulum (ER) targeting and signal mechanisms. Also, it explains protein targeting signals, the Signal Recognition Particle (SRP), SRP receptor, Sec61 translocon, co-translational and post-translational translocation, membrane protein insertion, and membrane protein topology in a simplified, mechanism-based manner.
