पाठ्यक्रम के बारे में
Lipids are insoluble in water so they associate with amphipathic lipids and proteins to form water miscible transport form of lipid known as Lipoprotein. They are classified on the basis of Density on ultra-centrifugation and electrophoretic mobility on the basis of charge on apoprotein. Apoproteins act as co-activators of enzymes, ligands for membrane receptors and provide solubility to Lipoprotein.1. Chylomicrons carry exogenous /dietary triglycerides
2. VLDL carries endogenous Triglycerides
3. Both Chylomicron and VLDL metabolised by Lipoprotein Lipase
4. LDL plays bad Cholesterol role in Atherosclerosis
5. HDL plays role in Reverse Cholesterol Transport from tissues to Liver.
