About the Course
This course provides a focused, clinically oriented overview of syphilis, a multisystem infection with protean manifestations across its stages. Designed for medical students, residents, and practicing clinicians, the course traces the natural history of acquired syphilis—from the primary chancre to secondary systemic disease, latent phases, and late (tertiary) complications. A dedicated component addresses congenital syphilis, highlighting both early and late presentations, including features such as snuffles, rash, hepatosplenomegaly, and classic stigmata like Hutchinson’s teeth and interstitial keratitis. The course emphasizes the importance of antenatal screening, timely diagnosis, and prevention of vertical transmission.-
