About the Course

The brain is protected by three layers of membranes: the dura, pia, and arachnoid mater. The pia and arachnoid matter are closely associated, running together over the brain's surface. Regarding the brain's composition, the grey matter forms the outer core, while the white matter is located internally. The surface of the cerebral cortex features depressions known as sulci and elevations called gyri that divides the brain into various lobes. Each lobe has specific function. The frontal, parietal, occipital & temporal lobes are for motor, sensory, vision and hearing respectively.
