About the Course
The healthcare delivery system in India is a mix of public and private sectors, with the public sector primarily responsible for providing healthcare services to the underprivileged and rural populations. The government runs a vast network of healthcare facilities, including primary health centers, district hospitals, and specialized hospitals. However, the private sector also plays a significant role, especially in urban areas, offering advanced medical care, often at a higher cost. Despite significant strides in improving healthcare access, challenges remain, such as underfunding, a shortage of healthcare professionals, and unequal distribution of services between urban and rural areas. Additionally, the affordability and quality of healthcare services can vary widely. India has also been focusing on various health schemes like Ayushman Bharat to provide insurance coverage and improve access to medical treatment for economically vulnerable groups.-
