About the Course

This module describes the basic concepts of Genome Assembly and how genomics is applicable to the field of microbiology. It explains the different types of analysis that can be undertaken by using techniques of comparative genomics, variation analysis, etc in the area of medical microbiology. The concept of metagenomics and microbiome analysis is also explained briefly, where upon information is provided about analysing the types and abundances of microorganisms present in microbial communities found in samples like soil, fecal matter, oral cavity, gut, etc.
