About the Course

Purpose: The purpose of this unit is to develop an understanding of the various aspects of child health. This unit will enable the programme managers to implement child health interventions, including neonatal health.

 

Time: Eight hours

 

Prerequisite: This unit should be read after completing unit 4 of course 3.

    At the end of this unit, you will be able to:

    1.     Enumerate the various health parameters to assess the child health status

    2.     Describe the child health status in India

    3.     Write about the bottlenecks in implementation of child health programmes

    4.     Describe the major interventions for child health in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
