Purpose: The purpose of this unit is to develop an understanding about the effective functioning of decentralised governance structures – District Health Society (DHS) and Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS).

    At the end of the session, you will be able to:

    1. Define the concept of inter-sectoral convergence and various other terms used for convergence in healthcare
    2. Explain the roles of various departments related to the health sector
    3. Describe the mechanism or linkages for coordination amongst various departments.
    4. Outline the role of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) and community participation in healthcare
    5. Illustrate the strategies for addressing malnutrition through inter-sectoral coordination
